New Years Resolutions?
I don't make them. Mainly because I'm not good at keeping them. So to avoid disappointment in 2008... I resolve to go with the flow and just be.
I apologize to my faithful readers for not posting in November and December...those were a rough few months at work for me. I won't get into details, but teaching classes and trying to organize and manage the whole school can be overwhelming sometimes. But now I have a week of vacation and I plan on doing lots of blogging and hobbies in general. I'm even thinking about bringing my guitar down from the attic and strumming a few chords.
One of the things that I love about living in Spain is how we draw out the holiday season and squeeze out every last drop. We have Christmas Eve dinner in family, Christmas day lunch in family, New Years Eve dinner in family, New Years day lunch in family...which drags on into New Years day dinner in family. Then comes the Three Kings day with lunch, parade and dinner festivities. Eat, drink and be merry is a phrase that is definitely taken seriously. We put the tree up at the beginning of December and don't take it down until the third week of January. It's great. Ours is a fake tree so we could really keep it up until Easter if we wanted to.
It's getting late and I should probably head to bed. Happy New Years to all! Does anyone else feel like the turn of the millenium was just yesterday?
