Tears of Joy and Sadness

Of all the places on Earth, I think the places that torment me the most are airports. There's just too much going on and at the same time nothing is going on.

People come and go, but no one stays. Happy faces, sad faces, tired faces, bored faces, angry and stressed faces, worry, exhaustion, joy and indifference.

My husband and I spent an entire year meeting each other in airports in the US and Spain before we got married. Everytime I walk into an airport, a whirlwind of emotions take over. I'm either meeting a loved one or leaving them.

Just three weeks ago I went to the airport to pick up my parents whom I hadn't seen in a year. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. And today I went back to the airport, but this time I wiped a tear away.

Airports are like Earth. People are always coming and going. A transition period. Just waiting to take off on their journey home
