Noah and Baptisms
I haven't written on my blog for awhile mostly due to lack of inspiration. Everytime I got into Blogger my mind would just go blank. Don't think that since I'm writing now that I've had some sort of divine inspiration, because I haven't.
This weekend Jose and I rented 7 movies from the video club. Watching films is one of our favorite pastimes. We take turns watching one in Spanish and the next in English. Needless to say, I love the ones I get to watch in English. We saw one in particular (in English) which we loved. I cried. I usually just get teary eyed during movies, but this time I cried. What film is worthy of my tears, you ask? The Notebook. The main character's name is Noah, and I fell in love with him...I even think Jose fell in love with him.
Yesterday Jose and I went to the baptism of our close friends', Jose and Montse's, son, Anton. It was my first Catholic baptism. We were there with all of their family. I explained to Montse's mom how I got dunked at the age of 12 and not sprinkled. I heard many, "So, you're the Yankee, right?" and my reply was, "No, I'm a Southerner." After the baptism we went to a huge banquet hall and had lunch. It was a 5 course meal that started at 2:30 PM and ended at around 7PM. Pineapple Shrimp coctail, jumbo prawns, swordfish, lamb, steak, strawberry shortcake with icecream and coffee. Galicians go WAY out with meals. Lunch started with everyone quietly eating and ended with Montse's dad singing tangos at the top of his lungs.
